Well, we have seen some drama over the past couple of weeks.
First we have Kurt Busch nailing the first two non-points races of the season. Surely a statement of intent from the new Double Deuce. Penske obviously hungry to capitalise on their Nationwide success of 2010. Then we are witness to a crazy Daytona 500, one that is imprinted in history .... Read the rest of this blog

Some notes before the standings:
-We have our first winner. Brad, who didn?t even play last week correctly guessed Gordon to end his winless streak. Surprisingly, he was the only out of 25 contestants to do so.
-On the subject of winning, I WILL keep track of wins this year. To the right of the point total, I will put the number .... Read the rest of this blog

1.Kyle Busch -Narrowly missed pulling off his second career weekend triple.
2.Ryan Newman- In the last 3 races at Phoenix he has finished no worse than 5th.
3.Dale Earnhardt Jr.- For the first time in a while something JR nation can cheer about a solid top 10.
4.Kurt Busch- Team 22 is off to a flying start .... Read the rest of this blog

After Daytona 500
1.Trevor Bayne -This kid proved he was the real deal winning his first cup race in the biggest event of the year.
2.Carl Edwards - Seems as if the momentum from late last season has spilled over into 2011.
3.Bobby Labonte -Wow was it ever nice to see the former champ have a shot .... Read the rest of this blog

Ever since Johnny Sauter uttered that word over and over following his first Truck Series win in 2009, I have noticed that it has become one of the most used phrases to describe something that happened on track. It ramped up over Speedweeks. From Kurt Busch?s post race interview in the Shootout to describing Trevor Bayne?s conquest of the Daytona .... Read the rest of this blog

Another great race(?) is in the can.
Shall we call it square dancing? A swap meet? Noah?s Ark on wheels? I?m not sure what to call it or if it was better or worse than any other restrictor plate race. It was entertaining in some fashion, and certainly had a thrilling finish. I suppose that?s Nascar?s main goal. As a race, I don?t know how to .... Read the rest of this blog

Wow! What a start! I like this new system that you guys helped me come up with this year. It will really make winning and top 5's very important. Everyone struggled this weekend, but then again, it is tough to make predictions at the plate tracks. Really surprised by the amount of people that picked Bayne for a top 10 finish. Anyways, here are .... Read the rest of this blog

First there was Tiny Lund in 1963, then Cale Yarborough in 1968, A. J. Foyt in 1972 followed by David Pearson in 1976. These are the four men who have driven the famous Wood Brothers number 21 Ford into victory lane after winning the Daytona 500.
And now you can add the name Trevor Bayne to that illustrious list.

John Ford?s 1962 western film, ?The Man who Shot Liberty Valance,? Jimmy Stewart plays U.S. Senator whom became famous for shooting the notorious outlaw, Liberty Valance (played by Lee Marvin). Stewart attends the funeral of an old friend (John Wayne) and is interviewed by a newspaper editor about how he knew Wayne?s character. Stewart explains to .... Read the rest of this blog

Of the 48 drivers entered for the 2011 Daytona 500 39 will be looking for the biggest win of their careers by winning the big race, while 30 of them are looking for their first points-paying plate win period.
Here's the 3 former plate winners who I think have a shot of adding a Daytona 500 win to their racing resume:

Nascar may have stumbled upon the cure for declining ratings ? have Jr. on the pole for every event. It?s working so far. No connection to the 2.18.01 anniversary I?m sure. (Sorry about that. Just too coincidental to ignore.)
Contrary to what the Fox and Speed crews would lead us to believe, the 2-car draft phenomenon appeared last year. At .... Read the rest of this blog

Finally, NASCAR season is back! Remember, we have some minor changes for this year. Ten points for the winner, 2 points for a top 5 finish, and 1 point for a top 10. I suggest everyone wait until after the Duel races to make their predictions for a better idea of who will be strong. I will go ahead and post mine, although they are subject to change.

When Noah opened the turnstiles on the arc, the animals filed in two-by-two. When NASCAR opened the track at Daytona on Friday for practice for the Bud Shootout, the drivers flew around on the new pavement two-by-two.
Clumsy biblical references aside, the new drafting techniques brought on by the extremely smooth new pavement that is loaded .... Read the rest of this blog

We are already knee deep in discussion about this season?s racing and we haven?t turned a wheel yet (competitively that is). So what are we all looking forward to?
If I hear you shout NASCAR you?d be right (although TV listings are screwed up in my country, but I?ll deal with it). All seats for this year are filled and the next race is right .... Read the rest of this blog

Another great season of NASCAR is ahead of us. I look forward to discussing the races with everyone and no doubt their will be an abundance of fights and arguments in the race pages. New drivers usually get rewarded with the benefit of the doubt. The arguments for giving a rookie a proper chance to show himself look good on paper.
?He just needs more seat time.? Well, it sounds perfectly logical.
?It takes a while for a driver to get used to the new car.? That makes complete sense.

- "Jeremy Mayfield: Where‚??s the truth?" posted by NASCARgirl01 on February 8, 2011 (9 comments)
Following Jeremy Mayfield?s interview on NASCAR Race Hub last week, I heard some racing enthusiasts discussing his appearance. They kicked around the fact that he really didn?t say anything about the status of his lawsuits. That?s true, he didn?t since it is tied up in all of the legal mess it has become, but it was still an interesting interview. .... Read the rest of this blog
