  1. "CoT+5" posted by Uptight Motorsports Nerd on March 29, 2012   (9 comments)

It has been five years since the infamous debut of the Car of Tomorrow at Bristol Motor Speedway. The race itself wasn't very impressive as it was mostly dominated by Gibbs cars with no passing without a crash (or as some call it, "Old Bristol"). It may be best remembered as the race Kyle Busch won before declaring, "I'm still not a very big fan of .... Read the rest of this blog

  2. "The Rain Man Cometh" posted by Riverside on March 29, 2012   (0 comments)

Bernie Ecclestone once joked that sprinklers should be installed on every track to make the racing more excitable. I'm half want to take him up on the offer.

Because if we have more outcomes like that, the championship would be a lot more interesting.

I still think that Perez may have been spooked out of winning the Grand Prix on political .... Read the rest of this blog

Another ( partial ) race is in the can.

I suppose Mr. Harvick is back on the "horseshoe" rant re the 48.

The 54 having to go to the back for Saturday's race begs the question how is it ( and not that rare ) that a driver misses mandatory meetings or introductions? Unless they're ill, what could be more pressing? Is it just ennui? Maybe .... Read the rest of this blog

  5. "Where Have All The Short Tracks Gone?" posted by Nick DeGroot on March 28, 2012   (6 comments)

I'm only 18 but I'm sure a lot of you older fans out there remember the "golden age" of NASCAR. Remember when Ricky Rudd and Dale Earnhardt spun at North Wilkesboro on the final lap battling for the win in 1989. How about when Kasey Kahne and Matt Kenseth are almost at a dead heat across the line at the Rock in 2004.

I hate when you got stuff to do, and any kind of race gets red flagged, and the finish gets pushed back to later on. Had broomball practice this morning (broomball is a mix of ice hockey and field hockey played by running around on ice. Lot's of fun). 11. "The Best Season Ever...Again?" posted by Riverside on March 22, 2012   (1 comment)

The recent Grand Prix has made us say it again: it's going to the best season for a long time.

We've been saying it for a few years now, but I think I can actually start believing it now. And here's my reasons why.

My main man Jenson Button has delivered the goods for the third time in four races at Albert Park. It's a track he has .... Read the rest of this blog

Sorry it took me so long to get this up, my internet has been acting up a lot lately.

The "MIPA" was hard for me to choose. RoushFan and NicoRosbergFan both got wins while everyone else got very low points (highest of those being 8). RoushFan gained 9 positions but I chose NicoRosbergFan for winning 2 of the first 4 races this season!

Another race is in the can.

It's curious how drivers respond differently to the same incident. How is it that Kyle Busch slams the hood of his car and disappears for the day and Carl Edwards smiles and jokes while they're both veritably done for the day through no fault of their own? I guess it's the same in everyday life for all of us. ( The .... Read the rest of this blog

I'll have a short rundown of my thoughts for each F1 race. I might not hit up every race, since some weekends, I might have other plans that might take precedence, but I will do my best to give a rundown on my thoughts and opinions for each F1 race.

  19. "Green Flag: Turbochargers" posted by Uptight Motorsports Nerd on March 15, 2012   (0 comments)

Author's note: air pressure can be measured by two scales: absolute and gauge. Absolute pressure uses zero to represent a perfect vacuum (the kind you find in deep space). Gauge pressure uses zero to represent the Earth's normal atmospheric pressure at sea level (that is 101,325 Pa, 14.7 psi, 29.9 inHg, or 760 mmHg on an absolute scale). For the .... Another race is in the can.

Where are the meadows? I've seen all the Vegas races on TV. I've been to the city many more times than that. I've watched "Vega$", "Las Vegas" and "Melvin And Howard". The only "meadows" I've seen were man-made, i.e. Howard Hughes' foothill home and the golf courses.

  24. "THE RETURN of Old vs. New Points" posted by Riverside on March 12, 2012   (0 comments)

It's to compare and contrast again. I thought I'd try this again for the second year, mainly for the Nationwide Series, seeing how Carl Edwards actually nailed the series shut, yet since he was ineligible for the championship he didn't win. It was intriguing to see where the ineligibles sit in this now mixed up series. Now he's not in it, will another .... Read the rest of this blog

I think we can all agree slicedbread96 deserves the "MIPA" for this race. Not only did slicedbread96 predict Stenhouse to win, but also gained 8 positions and sits 6th. Congrats, slicedbread96!

I was hoping for the "Dan Wheldon Grand Prix of St. Petersburg", but having Turn 10 of your home track named after you is just as good.

Upon first hearing that the Daytona 500 was being pushed back a week, I didn't mind.
