"Phoenix and California"

This is interesting. Phoenix lengthened its Spring race by 63 miles to 375 laps and miles. This is probably to get the race more into prime time.

California, or Auto Club Speedway, will shorten the fall race there to 400 miles. This is probably to make it more like Michigan, which is a similar track where the races are also 400 miles.

The race in February will remain 500 miles, although that could also change soon. This could be the beginning of NASCAR getting back to what everyone really likes. It will be fascinating to follow how these changes work.
