I for one have always been one of the biggest supporters of Ryan Hunter-Reay. I saw the talent in him from the first corner of his IRL debut at Mid-Ohio in 2007. He performed so well that he ended up being rookie of the year despite having started less than half of the races. Last night, RHR showed us that he is a true champion. Even as every single sports writer and analyst insisted he wouldn't be able to handle the pressure and would choke away the title, he overcame the most unlikely circumstances seen from a champion since 2003 when Scott Dixon won as a rookie despite being sub-par in CART. To make things even more special, RHR is from Florida, which is the state where I live.
To make the season more exciting, we had the predictor cup to occupy our minds and adjust how we rooted for drivers on weekends. I plan on using 24over48's much less complicated system for my contest next year, and will keep the bonus points for the Indy 500. This is your chance now: what changes do you want to see next year?
A final congrats to joey2448 for winning the inaugural IndyCar Predictor Cup. A special shout-out to me for being worst of the people who picked every race despite one of only 3 or 4 people on the entire website who follow the series :P
