Hello All and welcome to my Blogging Debut here on RacingReference!

I?m excited to be a blogger here and want to thank the Moderater for approving me to be a blogger.

I plan on writing two blogs weekly, one before a race with my predictions and who should be on you fantasy team (check out my fantasy game in the Racing-Reference Forums) for that race as well as what I think will happen in the race. And then I will write a blog after the race with a recap of the entire weekend in NASCAR racing.
I hope you all enjoy :)

Todays blog is #1, 11/03/09 Talladega Recap and Texas Predictions.

Well last week was the last Restrictor Plate race of the season and even though NASCAR implemented smaller platers which created slower cars we still saw some violent wrecks starting with Ryan Newmans complete flip slide and barrel roll when for the first time since the COT has been in Nascar we saw a car land on its roof and stay there. And then we saw a wreck (which was the Dega Big One) after a green white checker start. This time it was Mark Martin barrel rolling through the tri-oval. Needless to say NASCAR failed to make the racing safer for the DRIVERS in this race. What I think should be done is they should either 1: remove the dang Plates off the cars so that the cars can spread out in the race. But I guess we would see more dangerous racing that way which is why my dad came up with the perfect solution: Make a Smaller engine and take the plate OFF the engine. We would get more spread out racing while they are going as fast as possible (which would be near 200 miles per hour) but they would be spread out instead of always being in a pack. But that?s just my two cents on that?

Back to, the race.
Jamie McMurray picked up his third career win and first in over 2 years, although without the last wreck we may have seen someone else in victory lane.
Jimmie Johnson (FYI to everyone this is a driver I hate so I wont mention him often unless absolutely necessary.) took a huge lead that just about guarantees his 4th straight championship which im none to happy about after his closest competitors Martin, Gordon, and Stewart all suffered late race wrecks.

Now onto my predictions for the Dickies 500 @ Texas:

The First driver that comes to mind who will have a good week is obviously the #48 team they have won this race in 07 and Johnson ranks first all time in the average finish category.

The next driver that comes to mind is the guy who ended his winless streak here back in the spring, Jeff Gordon. Usually when he does well at this track he suffers in the next race and since he has two straight top two finishes at this track I think he might prove that stat wrong this week.

And Finally I think Tony Stewart will Bounce back from his poor result at Talladega and score a good run here this week as well as his teammate Ryan Newman who both have wins at this track Stewart most recently in this race in 2006.

Texas Preview:

I see Johnson leading most of the race this week and probably taking the win but Gordon may contest him near the end or we may even see an unexpected good run by Edwards or the other Roush guys, with McMurray bringing momentum to that orginazation.

Well guys I hope you enjoyed the blog and look forward to seeing your guys? comments.

Draco?..OUT!!!
