I'm no fan of these guarantee starting spots. Take Daytona for instance you got 8 spots open and 19 cars trying to get them. You got drivers like Boris Said, Robert Richardson and Travis Kvapil lock in and Micheal Waltrip who has to race has way in. The old days were better when you had to qualify your way in. So what if a Jimmie Johnson or Tony Stewart had to load up and go home knowing they got beat by a team with only 1/5 the money they had. It would only make them work harder for the next race. I know things change sometime for the better but is not one of them.
