After the first volume of the "Long Shot Quiz" fizzed out pretty quickly, it took me a while to motivate myself to create another one. And now, here we are.
The format is, like the last one, ridiculously easy. The object is this: correctly name the top points finishers for a certain series in a certain year. You will predict the top 10 in points for these series: Sprint Cup, F1, IndyCar, Nationwide, and Trucks. You will predict the top 5 in points for these series: West, East, Modified, ARCA, Indy Lights, and GP2 (yes, a non-RR series). You do not have to pick for all these series, but the object of this is to see who scores the most points, so it is highly encouraged. The points system will be very basic: 10 points for predicting first, 9 points for predicting second, 8 points for third, etc (for top 5 predictions, it will be run in a 10-8-6-4-2 system). However, this does not mean that you have to get them exact. If, say, you put George Brunnhoelzl III in the third position in Southern Modified (which we will not be doing, hence why I am using it as an example), but in actuality he is second in points, you will still receive second-place points despite placing him in the wrong position.
I will post one of these blogs every week, going in 5-year increments (this week will be 2014-2010). Picks can be posted in the comments, or they can be sent to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. The second option is recommended if you don't want your picks to be used as a crutch by other players, but either one works.
Try and format your submissions like this:
2014 Sprint Cup
1. Joe Cool
3. World War I Flying Ace
