Another great race is in the can.
The 24/48 crew swap may not be the right thing to do regardless if it proves to be productive. Maybe it just feels wrong because, to my knowledge, it?s never been done before. Whatever one believes, the cry ?Why break up a 4 time championship team?? is inapplicable. I?m pretty certain that the same seven guys have not been together for almost 5 seasons. They may not even be the same 7 from last year. I?m sure (and hope) I?ll be corrected if I?ve misspoke.
Chad might have considered the strategy employed by Ricky Rudd to win at Rockingham in 1996. After a series of less than satisfactory pit stops, Ricky decided to forgo stops for the remainder of the race. This seemed a doomed strategy since The Rock ate tires more than any track.
We?ve got the roof cam, gopher cam, and finger cam. I wished there had been an ambulance cam last Sunday. If EMS vehicle walls could talk?
11.8.87: At Riverside, Rick Hendrick ran his 1st of 2 Cup races. He was running top 10 before suspension problems put him out.
11.7.82: Marty Robbins ran his 35th and final race.
If Ned were in the booth we?d know what?s up with Bobby Dotter.
