Casey Mears- To Start & Park, Or Not To Start & Park, That Is The Question !
After being released from RCR just weeks before the 2010 Daytona 500 Casey Mears found himself in a precarious position without a ride for the big race. He struck a deal late in January 2010 to drive for upstart team Key Motorsports. Mears not only missed the 500 that year, the deal with Key Motorsports turned out to be the start of some troubling times for Mr.Mears. Mears however did find some good karma towards the end of the 2010 season, he was tabbed to drive the 15 car for Germain Racing. Since then Mears appears to have found a good home at Germain both parties seem to be headed in the right direction. The key to Mears finding success in 2012 highly depends on weather or not Germain elects to start & park in some races. I would expect the team not to start & park this year since Germain closed it's truck series program at the end of 2011. Given the fact that Casey struck out with three major teams in his Cup career. And with an abudance of young talent waiting in the wings to break into Cup, It's highly unlikely Mears would get another chance to drive for one of the powerhouse teams. Germain Racing just may lead Casey Mears back to the promise land.
